been a while...

been a while since a post. i guess i can say i've been busy, that's a way to put it :) there are 19 days until i become a mrs. 16 months of thinking and planning the special day, finally it is drawing near. whew. i think these last three weeks will feel eternal, at least when i stop to think about it. while planning our big day, i have become quite obsessed with thrift stores and etsy. someday soon i will post pictures of my sweet finds...

wow...

wow. time has really flown by. really flown by. gone is the lovely-cause-i-didn't-have-to-work but torch-the-ground-on-fire-why-don't-cha-you-horrible-good-for-nada-heat summer. it's time to return to work after a productive summer. many accomplishments, yes for sure. wedding plans and online masters degree and wedding plans and cleaning somewhere in between and true blood and fun in the sun and rewatching true blood. time to return and to start blogging again since i'll need an outlet to destress and unwind. there's only 3 more episodes left. very sad. wow... really, it's flown by.

drip drip splash...

it's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring... i love it when it rains, especially at home when i can sit on the porch with mr. lovely and 'stinky'... although, when it rains at school...the classroom darkens and the kids get spooked. ha:) pic by rachael...

i can smell the summer...

it's just around the corner and i can't stand it. this school year seems to have flown by in a wink and now i'm ready for summer. why do these last three weeks have to seem longer than the last three years! the kids are getting restless and i am right there with them. the excitement that summer vacation is so close is too much to bear. yesterday we took the kids to sea world for a field trip. half of our students hadn't been so of course they had a blast. we all did. unfortunately, the kiddos couldn't get on any of the rides but that didn't stop us responsible teachers from getting our hands stamped on the way out and heading back to ride the rides after the kids were dropped off at school! i haven't ridden a rollercoaster in a while and the effects finally hit my lovely aging self on the fifth turn! QUEASY! in one more week, i visit my lovely friend melissa in the land of the rich and famous, la. i wish my lovely partner in crime could make the trip with me, but still, i cannot wait to see my wonderful friend who i've known since middle school orchestra... oh, and venice, i'm coming back sweety!

loving spring...

ahhhh spring... i just love spring. everything comes back to life and pow, green's back with a vengeance, ready to beautify! so it's time for my lovely someone to age another year and it's time for the city to fiesta itself out and it's time for the flowers to bloom....and, how can i forget, it's almost time for school to be out and oh so close to summertime! i just want to be outside....with the trees and the breeze and the yellow bumble bees!! tony and i have been hitting the local garden centers and getting our green thumbs on... here our some of our lovely green additions...
my green thumbness is really being put to the test with my zinnias being grown from seeds...i'm crossing my fingers!!

tony and i got our hike on at government canyon...a 3 hour hike as a matter of fact...30 more minutes and i think we would have been food for the vultures! there's my honey getting me some water...and below that at a bridge over the san antonio river in king william during fiesta....

alayna turns five!

i heart ewoks...

i thought the ewoks were the best thing that happened to star wars. at least for me. they were my favorite part and most memorable characters. i just wanted to hold them and squeeze them and keep them as my very own little feisty pets that i could say goodnight to before i went to sleep in my pretty lady lovelylocks canopy bed. a recent pic of my little tokyo reminded me of my favorite ewok above. tokyo's the closest version of the adorable forest living furball natives of endor that i'll ever have. money well spent for a childhood dream come true!
